About The Ortigas Business District
The Ortigas Center has come into its own as a premiere business and commercial district in the Philippine metropolis of Metro Manila. Widely considered by Philippine and international businessmen as second only to Makati for sheer importance to Philippine business, the Ortigas Center boasts of excellent location, opportunities for business and lifestyle, and a wide variety of activities and endeavors to meet the requirements of any visiting businessman or tourist.
The Ortigas business district is strategically located along the boundaries of Pasig City (to the east), Mandaluyong City (to the west), and Quezon City (to the north). A mere 15 minutes away from the Makati Central Business District, the Philippines' premiere business capital, the Ortigas district is three minutes away from the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), the Philippine capital's main thoroughfare.
The Ortigas business district is home to many of the country's leading business establishments and shopping malls, thanks largely in part to the Ortigas Center Association, Inc., a non-stock, non-profit organization founded in 1982 for the advancement of Ortigas Center as one of the leading business districts in the country. The almost 200-member roster includes some of the leading companies of the business sector, most of which are housed in Ortigas' Tektite Towers, including the Philippine Stock Exchange Center. Hundreds of companies make a living housed in many of Ortigas' skyscrapers and buildings; Ortigas Center earns about 40 percent of the total revenues of Pasig City.
